He will focus on how the connections between regional urban centers and neighboring rural areas shaped the organization of work. Bed\u0151k will work on three town centers in the former Yugoslavia: \u010cakovec, Varasdin, and Osijek (Cs\u00e1ktornya, Varasd, Esz\u00e9k). His work will provide comparative material on the Yugoslav second economy and semi-private economic forms. He will focus on how the income generated via commuting and working in the second economy shaped patterns of consumption.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He will explore the historical origins of the forms of work and study how earlier legacies of labor and lobbying continued to shape patterns of work in these regions.
